Elvington airshow 2000

Elvington 2000….another airshow I can’t really remember much about but I’ll bang the photos up even though they are terrible! Seems I got to watch a display from 2 x Mirage F1s, bet that was awesome but I cannot bloody remember any of it!

Also there was a Hurricane in a fetching night fighter black. Not sure I saw one again until this year when the BBMF painted one of their Hurricanes in a similar fashion.

1/72 Revell Rockwell Space Shuttle

I bought this from Wonderland models in Edinburgh. It was my first visit to this…well..wonderland of scale modelling! Time was limited, I could have spent 3 hours in there instead I had about 40 minutes and I panic bought a Revell 1/72 scale Space Shuttle. Possibly influenced by reading Into the Black by Rowland White not long before. It also meant I walked out with a ginormous box which always feels good 🙂

RIAT 2010

Whilst tracking back through my archives and trying to write these blog posts it’s become clear that I’m able to remember a lot more when I’ve taken pictures of the more mundane aspects of the entire airshow weekend, particularly phone camera pics. Often these are not pictures of aircraft but the places I might have stayed at, or the car I drove, the people I met, whatever – these photos help trigger memories. I don’t have many of these for RIAT 2010, I was very much focussed on getting aeroplane photos so this is going to be tricky but will see what comes flooding back!
